1.18. How do I search the archives of the mailman-users mailing list?

The mailman-users mailing list is archived at http://mail.python.org/pipermail/mailman-users. However, this site does not provide its own search function for the archive.

The official searchable interface is at mail-archive.com (see http://www.mail-archive.com/mailman-users@python.org/).

Alternatively, you can use Google and include site:mail.python.org and inurl:mailman-users along with your other search criteria.

Unfortunately, the search interface at mail-archive.com is frequently broken with regards to searching the archives of this mailing list. In that case, make sure to try the Google method instead.

The folks at gmane.org have a mailing list/USENET news gateway for various lists, but they have been asked to stop gatewaying the mailman-* lists. They added this service for their customers without our approval, and in violation of their own policies (i.e., they didn't check with us that this action met with the approval of the owners of these lists). Since this matter was brought to their attention, they have stopped gatewaying the mailman-* lists.

It has since been brought to our attention that another unapproved gateway was set up over at nabble.com, and we will be looking into this matter.
