2.7. How can I unsubscribe from a mailing list?

The easiest way to unsubscribe from a mailing list is to just send a message to <listname>-leave@<host>. Mailman will send you a confirmation message and if you reply to that message you will be unsubscribed. You will not need to know your password to do this.

For example, to leave the Mailman Users mailing list, you would send a message from your subscribed address to mailman-users-leave@python.org.

You can also unsubscribe via the web page for the mailing list, for example http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/mailman-users

Scroll to the bottom of the page and enter your email address in the box next to the 'Unsubscribe or edit options' button. Click that button, then click on the 'Unsubscribe' button on the resulting page. Again, Mailman will send you a confirmation message and when you reply to this, you will be unsubscribed.

A final alternative if you know your password. Use the 'Log in' button on your members option login page. Then once you've logged in, look for the 'Unsubscribe' button. Check the box that says "Yes, I really want to unsubscribe" then click "Unsubscribe". You will be removed from the mailing list with no further confirmation necessary.
