MailmanWiki

In November of 2006, the mailman-users archive was rebuilt. This caused the message numbers of archived messages to be reassigned. This is the numeric part of the nnnnnn.html file name. The new number appears to be the same as the old number for messages as old or older than August 2001, greater than the old number by 4 for messages in the November 2001 through December 2005 timeframe, greater by 5 in May 2006 and greater by 6 for messages since July 2006. Messages since mid November 2006 do not have 'old' numbers.

Links in this FAQ have been updated.

Links in the archived messages themselves will probably never be changed, so you'll have to experiment with incrementing (or possibly decrementing) the numeric part of the file name to find the correct message.
