Mailman is not Listserv®
Many people use the term Listserv® as a generic term to refer to an email list or email list management software. This is not correct. Listserv® is a registered trademark owned by the developer of a particular email list management product, and it shouldn't be used generically.
The Gnu Mailman developers have no vested interest in protecting the Listserv® trademark, but we do not wish to have our software potentially confused with competing products.
