Where do I go for help?

If you are a list member, try the Mailman 2.1 Members Manual. If that doesn't help answer your question, you should contact your list administrator. Instructions are here: Mailman 2.1 Members Manual.

List administrators, similarly, may wish to look at the Mailman 2.1 List Administrators Manual or to talk directly with their hosting providers.

Mailman 3 documentation is at http://docs.list.org/.

If you don't have full control over your installation of Mailman, 90% of the time you will need to get help from your hosting provider. Please contact them first!

If those don't help:

  1. Search the documentation on the wiki (you might want to start with the FAQ)

  2. Search the mailing lists, particularly the MM 2.1 mailman-users archives or the MM 3 mailman-users archives

  3. Visit us on IRC; we hang out on the #mailman channel on freenode.net
  4. If you can't find the answer to your questions, post to the appropriate mailing list (usually Mailman Users for MM 2.1 or Mailman Users for MM 3)

  5. Posting to the wiki should be a last resort – there are many more people paying attention to the mailing lists, so you'll get answers much more quickly there!
