 1. Give more guidance WRT proposals:  
  1. Encourage students to look at the PEP templates to help them write stronger proposals  
   * (Stephen suggests

  1. Give a sample proposal template  
   * include weekly timeline
   * include expected times for code reviews/integration into core projects in schedule?    
 1. Be significantly more detailed in our list of suggested projects  
  * Include desired skills and level of ability
  * Include pointers to relevant documentation (if there is any)
